Miracle McCloy Released from Hospital

I would not have believed it if I had not seen it with my own eyes. Randall McCloy, the lone survivor of the Sago Mining disaster on January 3, walking and speaking in a soft voice for the cameras in the press conference around his release today.

He truly is a miracle. Not only to survive the original ordeal of carbon Monoxide poisoning in the Sago mine, but the amazing recovery of his organs and his brain so that he is rehabilitated enough to actually speak and walk out on stage. Astounding.

Huddling

Damn, it's cold. And never so much as when you feel alone. The guy/friend/lover....whatever...I'd been seeing for a year has finally done the inevitable.

"I still want to be friends", he says...or writes, since that's our favourite mode of communication. Seems we had better things to do with our mouths over the past year or so.

It's funny, but I don't ever remember being friends.

My friends, for months had been bugging me to introduce him to them. They say there's something amiss when you don't meet your friends, friends...

"Well, I enjoyed hanging with you" But I don't recall once ever just hanging out somewhere or going to a movie or out anywhere.

Bernardo and Homolka - a true horror story

What do you think of them making the movie Deadly out of this horror?

Deadly is a 2005
American motion picture drama and thriller. The film is based on the true story
of two of Canada's most notorious killers, Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka. The
film has caused significant controversy in Canada, where the families of the
victims, Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy, have alleged that the film is
exploiting the memory of their daughters. Politicians in the Legislative
Assembly of Ontario, including Attorney General Michael Bryant, have called for
a boycott of the film, and one Canadian theatre chain, Cineplex Odeon, has
already stated that it will not show the film in its theatres.

CBC News: MacKay's reaction to Stronach's defection

CBC News: "VIDEO: Peter MacKay interview with CBC's Tom Murphy (Runs 8:45)"

The Herald - MacKay's heart 'a little banged up'
LORNE - Sounding more like a spurned suitor on The Bachelorette than a political heavyweight, Peter MacKay said Wednesday his heart has been "a little banged up" by Belinda Stronach, his high-profile squeeze and former caucus mate.

Speaking publicly for the first time since Stronach announced her defection to the ruling Liberals, the deputy Conservative leader told reporters he has been hurt deeply by the events of this week. (more...)

Blogbumper - Really wonderful pictures

bogbumper Wonderful pics

Welcome

Hi Guys,

I thought perhaps it was time to try out the Blog thing rather than just the discussion board format that we were using.

This way we can add video and multimedia to our posts and aren't as limited by space. It's worth a try anyway.
